Oxygen is crutial to survive in Banjo Kazooie Grunty's revenge because if you do not have enough of it you will suffer the consequences of fainting. Banjo has a few oxygen bubbles which will decrease after a few minutes of being under water. You will not lose health if you lose all of your oxygen. You can restore your oxygen by raising back to the top of the water and slowly regain oxygen, or going through an air bubble can help as well (especially through really deep waters).
