Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts
|Appearance||Orange, boney, skeleton-like.|
Mumbo Jumbo is first introduced in Banjo-Kazooie in the level Mumbo's Mountain, which is named after Mumbo himself. There you can visit him in his giant skull he lives in; in Mumbo's Mountain and in almost every other level he tells you to collect a certain number of Mumbo Tokens to make use of his transforming abilities. Mumbo can turn Banjo and Kazooie into many different animals ranging from a Bumblebee to a Termite.
Mumbo promises to Banjo and Kazooie that they can turn into a T-Rex in the next game after you transform in Click Clock Wood. He keeps his promise...kind of, because Humba Wumba transforms Banjo and Kazooie in Banjo-Tooie.
In Banjo Tooie Mumbo no longer transforms Banjo, instead he helps him by doing spells. If you give Mumbo a Glowbo you will get to take control of him. Mumbo only has one attack and is inferior to Banjo and Kazooie in almost every way. However his you take him to special Mumbo pads where he will perform a magical spell that will usually help you obtain a Jiggy, and sometimes can even open whole new parts of that level. Mumbo's spells range from bringing a statue to life and reviving the dead.
In Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge it was Mumbo who sent Banjo back in time to stop Grunty, and once there, past Mumbo fills in his old role of transforming Banjo for Mumbo tokens. However the way he works is slightly different. Mumbo tokens are much rarer, they can only be obtained by beating a boss so for each Mumbo token you give him Mumbo will add a new transformation to his list. From then on when you visit Mumbo in any level he will transform you into any form you have unlocked so far, rather than bring limited to one for each level.
 Banjo Kazooie - Transformations
Mumbo's Mountain: For the price of 5 Mumbo tokens Mumbo will transform you into your first creature, a termite. The termite can climb slopes so steep that Banjo cannot and is immune to damage from falling.
Bubblegloop Swamp: For 10 Mumbo tokens Mumbo will transform you into a crocodile. The crocodile is the only transformation that can attack, pressing B will make it bite. The piranhas in the swamp water won't harm you while you are a crocodile and you are also much smaller allowing you to fit through gaps you couldn't get through normally.
Freezeezy Peak: For 15 Mumbo tokens Mumbo will transform you into a Walrus. As a walrus you are unaffected by the icy waters throughout the level. Since you are now a walrus Wozza will trust you and give you a Jiggy, as well as well as unblocking the entrance to his cave allowing you to enter any time, and you are now small enough to ride on the small sled and race Boggy.
Mad Monster Mansion: For 20 Mumbo tokens Mumbo will transform you into a pumpkin. The pumpkin is small, really small. While you are a pumpkin you can fit through tiny gaps and even toilet pipes, and you are also immune to damage from thorns. There is also a hidden Mumbo's Skull in Gruntilda's Lair near the entrance to Mad Monster Mansion where Mumbo will also transform you into a pumpkin, allowing you to get one of Cheato's cheats, as well as unlocking Rusty Bucket Bay.
Click Clock Wood: If you come to Mumbo in Spring, he will transform you into a bee. In any of the other season he will refuse to transform you, in Winter he isn't even there! The bee can fly without needing a flight pad. While you are a bee the snarebares won't attack you and you can enter the Zubba's Hive for a Jinjo.
Other: Any time Mumbo transforms you there is a small chance he will accidentally transform you into a washing machine. If this happens Mumbo will jokingly asked you to wash his clothes before changing you into what you are actually supposed to become.
 Banjo Tooie - Spells
Mayhem Temple - Summon: Mumbo's first spell of in the game, and it's a big one. Using this Mumbo summons and brings to life the giant statue, Golden Goliath. Once he is summoned you get control of him two minutes before the magic runs out and he becomes a statue again. Golden Goliath is invincible, and can shatter rocks and break open huge stone door with a mighty kick.
Glitter Gulch Mine - Levitate: With this spell Mumbo can pick up heavy objects and let them move freely through the air. It is used to put the Jiggy boulder in the crushing shed and pick up Chuffy and place him back on his tracks.
Witchy World - Power: Mumbo calls down a bolt of lightning from the heavens which strikes the old rides deactivated and repowers them allowing them to be used by Banjo and Kazooie
Isle O' Hags - Cliff Top - Cure: With this spell Mumbo can cure any disease, however patients will have to ride Chuffy to be able to visit him.
Jolly Roger's Lagoon - Sunlight: Mumbo manipulates the sun and sends a concentrated beam of sunlight into the lagoon. Doing this somehow oxygenates the water allowing Banjo and Kazooie to freely explore the depths of the lagoon without having to worry about drowning.
Terrydactyl Land - Enlarge/Shrink: With this spell Mumbo can cause things to change their size. In the case of the stepping stones outside his skull and a small dinosaur he simply enlarges them, but with Wumba's Wigwam he can cause it to grow huge and then shrink it back to it's normal size, which also affects the size of Wumba's T-Rex transformation.
Grunty Industries - EMP: With this spell Mumbo sends out EMP waves which screw with the machines in Grunty Industries and cause them to malfunction. Unfortunately Grunty Industries are quite high tech and the machines will repair themselves quickly so Banjo must hurry back if he wants to make use of this spell.
Hailfire Peaks - Revive: One of Mumbo's most powerful spells, with this he can bring back the dead.
Cloud Cuckooland - Rain Dance: As you would expect with this spell Mumbo creates rain. The rain causes any magic beans Banjo has planted to grow into mighty beanstalks.
Banjo Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge - Transformations
Mouse: Mumbo's first new transformation and probably the most used in the game, in this form Banjo is significantly faster and smaller allowing him crawl through small holes he usually can't fit through. By pressing B banjo can gnaw through ropes, however this can't be used to attack enemies so as a mouse Banjo is defenseless.
Candle: While in this form Banjo can illuminate areas that are usually too dark for him to enter with the flame on top of his head. By pressing B Banjo will perform a flaming somersault which damages enemies and can light fires or melt ice.
Octopus: In this form Banjo can swim faster and can jump a substantial height out of water. As an ocotpus Banjo is also immune to icy or polluted waters that would otherwise damage him. By pressing B Banjo can shoot a jet of water that damages enemies.
Tank: Mumbo's final transformation. In this from Banjo can charge right over toxic surfaces that would usually damage him. By pressing B Banjo can fire shells and blow open reinforced doors.
 Banjo-Kazooie:Nuts & Bolts
In the latest Banjo Game, Mumbo returns as a Car Mechanic, playing a Major Role as he is assumed the origin of the Magic Wrench, and he allows you access to his garage to build vehicles. Oddly, in each of the worlds he appears in, he usually takes the "big boss" role. One of his talents is juggling his eyeballs, and in most of the roles he is cast, he is usually depicted as Wumba's husband. He still harbors an intense hatred for his fellow shaman.
